Prayers for the prosperity and welfare of humanity

These are prayers in Sanskrit for the prosperity and welfare of humanity. To achieve anything in life, one has to make an effort and await the results. In addition, many unknown factors and laws influence the outcome of that effort. By praying to the Lord, one acknowledges these laws as the natural order inseparable from the Lord, and one acknowledges the Lord as the giver of all results of actions.

May all be happy.	May all enjoy health and freedom from disease.	May all enjoy prosperity.	May none suffer.

Om Sahana Vavatu.	Sahanau Bhunaktu.	Sahaveeryam Karavavahai.	Tejas Vinavati Tamastu.	Ma vidhwishavahai.	Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi.
May He protect both of us.	May He nourish both of us.	May we both acquire the capacity (to study and understand the scriptures).	May our study be brilliant.	May we not argue with each other.	Om peace, let there be peace.

Asato Ma Sadgamaya.	Tamaso Ma Jyotir gamaya.	Mrityorma Amritam gamaya.	Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi.
Lead me from the unreal to the real (by giving knowledge).	Lead me from darkness (of ignorance) to the light (of knowledge).	Lead me from death (sense of limitation) to immortality (limitless liberation).	Om peace, let there be peace.

Tvameva Mata Cha Pita Tvameva.	Tvameva Bandhuscha Sakha Tvameva.	Tvameva Vidya Dravinam Tvameva.	Tvameva Sarvam mama Deva Deva.
You are our mother and father.	You are our brother and friend.	You are the knowledge and you are the only wealth.	O Supreme Lord, you are everything to us.

Subham Karoti Kalyanam.	Arogyam Dhana Sampadah.	Shatru Buddhi Vinashaya.	Dipa Jyotir Namostute.
Auspiciousness which brings prosperity.	good health and abundance of wealth.	Destruction of the intellect’s enemy.	I salute the lamplite.

Oh God! Let there be peace.

Make them calm, humble, gentle and stable.
Make them realize their mistakes.
Make them to confess, seek and pray for forgiveness.
Let there be forgiveness for true hearts.

Show them the right path on which they can walk.
Let there be justice, satisfaction and happiness.
Let them know that you are the justice and truth.
Let them know that the innocent is never punished.

Give them the strength, courage and wisdom to quit bad and to achieve good purpose.
Let there be leaders who are followed by goodness.
Make them competitive to achieve good.
Remove their greed, wickedness and bad ambitions.

Let them know that your love is infinite.
Speak to them in simple ways so they understand.
May your heart hear their pure hearts.

Never Lose Hope!

Four candles slowly burned.

The ambiance was so soft, one could almost hear them talking.

The first candle said, "I am PEACE".
"The world is full of anger and fighting. Nobody can keep me lit."
Then the flame of PEACE went out completely.

Then the second candle said, "I am FAITH".
"I'm no longer indispensable.it doesn't make sense that I lit another moment."
Just then a breeze Softly blew out Faith's flame.

Sadly the third candle began to speak "I am LOVE"
"People don't understand my importance. So they simply put me aside.
They even forget to LOVE those who are nearest to them.
I haven't the strength to stay lit."
And waiting no longer the Love's flame went out.

Suddenly a child entered the room and saw the three unlit candles.
"Why aren't you burning? You are supposed to stay lit till the end."
Saying this the child began to cry.

Then the fourth candle answered "don't be afraid I'm HOPE".
"While I'm still burning we can re-light the other candles."
With shining eyes, the child took the candle of HOPE and lit the other candles.

The flame of HOPE should never go out of your life.
And with HOPE each of us can live a life with PEACE, FAITH and LOVE!

Painful moments, trust God.

Interview With God!

I dreamed I had an interview with God.
“So you would like to interview me?” God asked.
“If you have the time” I said.
God smiled. “My time is eternity. What questions do you have in mind for me?”
“What surprises you most about humankind?” I asked.

God answered...
“That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.”
“That they lose their health to make money... and then lose their money to restore their health.”
“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”
"That they live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived.”

God’s hand took mine and we were silent for a while.
And then I asked...
“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”

“To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”
“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”
“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”
“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”
“To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply have not yet learned how to express or show their feelings.”
“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”
“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”

"Thank you for your time," I said humbly.
"Is there anything else you would like your children to know?"
God smiled and said, “Just know that I am here... always.”
